A New Year and New Commitments

I want to start by saying, Happy New Year! 2015 is here!
People always look at a new year as an opportunity for New Years Resolutions, however those don't always stick. You need to make commitments to yourself, goals that you want to accomplish, and make them something that you know by sticking to it you can achieve it. I've been thinking a lot lately about my commitments for this year and what I want to achieve. As I've looked at the year that has passed by me I've realized that to accomplish the goals I want, I need to be more organized and plan better. Do you struggle with this too? I tend to be someone that just "wings it" a lot, and that can only work for so long before things get piled up, backed up, and chaotic. I always have a "plan" in place, however I don't do well at mapping it out and finding the best path on getting there. So for me this is one of my goals. I'm going to sit down this weekend and plan out the steps on achieving my goals, post them in my kitchen, and check them off as I reach each step throughout the year. I also want to make a "Dream Board" with my goals and dreams for 2015. This is something I've wanted to do for a LONG time, but never get around to doing it (see there's that "winging it" and not planning time well thing I mentioned). See when you DREAM BIG and set your mind to something ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. I have big dreams and big goals, and I've always been set on achieving them, and I feel I've done well in my 34 years so far in accomplishing those things, but I know there is MORE that I'm meant to do, but feel that lately things just haven't quite fallen into place yet, but I know it will happen. I've always trusted in God that he has an ultimate plan for me, and I'm ready to do his work when it's the right time.

One of the goals that I'm committing to this year is helping more people start living a healthier life. I became a Team Beachbody coach this past year and have truly loved it. It's brought so many wonderful things into my life and changed it for the better. I've been able to help a number of people get on track to a healthier life and feeling better about themselves. I can't express the joy it gives me to see people happy and smiling again. One of the biggest joys has been seeing my family become healthier and more active. When you love people so much and you know that they're just not truly happy or feeling their best it's sad to see, but when you are a part of the smile that finally crosses their face again it is truly AMAZING! When you see those people you love the most in this world start walking taller with more confidence because they feel beautiful in their body, it's really the best feeling. This year I want to help MORE people start feeling better about themselves. I want to share the tools that I've been given with others so that they can start living a healthier, happier life. I believe this journey was put in my lap so that I can share it with others the way that it has helped me, my family, and my friends.

This year is also going to be the year that I will finish up my Master's Degree that I've been working towards for the past three years. I will FINALLY be walking and graduating. I truly can't believe it. It's been a tough journey and has taken A LOT of hard work, dedication, sleepless nights, and sacrifices, but I'm going to do it. The support and encouragement I've received from my family and friends has been so incredible. I can't thank everyone enough, especially my husband and two boys for their continued patience and understanding. Without them and their support I wouldn't have been able to do it. They are truly my biggest cheerleaders and I love them more than anything.

I want to finish by saying that with this year ahead and a clean slate that ANYTHING is possible! I've realized that even when you have your ideas of what the year ahead will bring, or what you think will happen you can be so wrong. No one ever knows what lies before you, but take it with open arms and embrace every step, every obstacle, every achievement, and every door that opens. Set out with your goals in mind and a be diligent in working towards those goals with a plan, but when something doesn't quite go the way you want, embrace it and learn from it. I'm going to be better this year at being organized and managing my time as I work towards my goals. I'm going to keep stepping forward and tackling any obstacle that comes my way, BUT I'm also going to keep an open mind when I face challenges and look at that challenge to see what the lesson is that God is trying to have me learn. I want to do my best this year to do his work and make sure to help as many people as I can whether it be through health and fitness or teaching. I believe that is what I'm mean to do.

This world offers us so many things. We are given so many tools to achieve our goals and dreams, however when you don't use those tools, those dreams can't come true. No one can do the work for you, that is up to YOU to do it. There will be people there to help you and guide you, but the job in the end is yours. Don't waste the tools and opportunities that are put in front of you. Embrace each situation with an open heart, and open mind, and open hands. Grab hold of it, work hard, and see just how your life can change! Happy New Year! Happy 2015! Set out and make this year YOURS! Make it the best year yet and make it YOURS. YOU can be Anything You Want To Be!!!
